problems that will occur by telling a teller in a bank to make a bank deposit ?

Consider the problem of making a bank deposit but not having the deposit credited to your account. Compare the likelihood of this happening with various ways of making the deposit going to a teller in a bank. What might go wrong? How difficult would it be to convince the bank that you really made the deposit.

  1. Do you have proof you made the deposit? Tellers give you a slip back. So do machines. If you don't have that slip, you have a problem. Otherwise, if it was a check you deposited, ask whoever wrote it to give you a copy of the cancelled check once they get it back from their bank. It will have details on the back of who deposited it.
  2. Thats what receipts are for.
  3. Most banks should have security cameras to show that the transaction occurred.
