Here's the scenario: You live in an apartment complex with 3 people. You pay a deposit with your roommates when you move in. When you move out, your complex won't split the deposit check 4 ways and all of your roommates move far away. Instead, they make out a check to all 4 of you. How do you deposit it? (You want to deposit it yourself and then mail the others' shares to them later.) Does it matter since your name is on the check? Do you have to have everyone's signatures? I know that WaMu makes everyone be physically present which makes it impossible to deposit. How about other banks? Has anyone actually gone through this exact process before and can tell me what happened to them? Don't tell me to 'just deposit it' because I know it's not that simple. I already know WaMu doesn't let you and that's a fairly major bank. I already said that they would not make out separate checks for each of them. Read the entire question.
